The music video for “La Femme D’Argent”, by Air, is entirely footage shot from a streetcar traveling down San Francisco’s Market Street in 1905. San Francisco had a mini-armageddon in 1906, so none of the buildings you see in this video are standing today — save the Ferry Building, the belltower you see directly ahead.

The controlled chaos on the street is incredible; cars, people, horses and wagons all weave in and out of traffic as if there were no rules (there weren’t). Betcha none of them had to stand in line at the DMV.
