From the extraordinary Spirit of the Boogie album (1975), which is long since out of print and impossible to find in a legal digital format. If you have a turntable, the vinyl edition is well worth the $10 or so it will cost you on eBay, but copies of the CD sell for upwards of $90. A few of the tracks can be found in compilations.

When there were still record stores, notched $1.99 Kool & The Gang CDs were a bargain-bin fixture, yet their best stuff remains inexplicably unavailable. So enjoy this glorious tune, but shed a single funky tear.
